Program Highlights for New York
ENERGY STAR Homes
New
York State presently has over 2,400
ENERGY STAR Labeled Homes reported
to the Environmental Protection
Agency. While the vast majority of
these are in the service territories
of the six investor-owned utilities
- Central Hudson, Con Edison, New
York State Electric & Gas,
Niagara-Mohawk, Orange & Rockland,
and Rochester Gas & Electric - the
Long Island Power Authority (LIPA)
has recently joined the ENERGY STAR
Labeled Homes.
The
New York State Energy Research and
Development Authority (NYSERDA) and
LIPA both provide a number of
resources, including marketing
support, technical support, sales
tools, and training. Raters,
builders and other participants are
able to use the ENERGY STAR logo on
their homes and corporate
promotional materials. This logo
associates participants with the
nationally recognized ENERGY STAR
brand.
NYSERDA and LIPA also provide
incentives to builders of ENERGY
STAR Labeled Homes and to Home
Energy Raters in New York State.
Incentives range from $750 to $3,500
or more for builders of ENERGY STAR
Labeled Homes. Co-op advertising
incentives are also available to
builders and raters.
